When I started writing some years ago, my teacher advised that the best way to improve one’s writing is to read. I took the advice to heart, ran with it and have been an avid reader ever since.
My favorite is contemporary women’s fiction, but I also read every spiritual how-to and holocaust-related book that comes across my path.
I develop my to-read list by recommendation, reviews, and Amazon’s Listmania. I rarely buy books. I order them from our library system and have them delivered to my within walking distance SouthSide branch.
Over the years I have had lots of different systems for keeping track of my reading- none of them very consistent or successful until I came upon goodreads.com. It organizes, keeps track, and connects together all of my reading needs. Sign-up and be sure to make me a friend so we can swap info on our good reads!
