This time of the year our streets are splashed with the joy of red, pink, yellow, white, blue, orange, peach, gold, lilac and purple blossoms. Dogwoods, lilacs, cherry trees, tulips, azaleas, wisteria, pansies, creeping myrtle, forsythia, magnolia and spring-blooming perennials at each turn signal that finally we can count on longer and warmer days.
This is also a perfect time of the year to get out of the city in search of interesting wild flowers. Steve and I have our favorite trail in North Park and here is a list of five hot spots including the most famous Fox Chapel Trillium Trail.
The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy creates green spaces and gardens throughout the city. It’s likely that one of their community gardens or newly planted trees is easily within your reach.
Enjoy a very few of my favorite things!
